Girls U19-1 Josephine Pucci

Josephine is presently co-founder of the Headway Foundation, a nonprofit that aims to combat concussions by promoting a safer sports culture, providing resources for patients, and enhancing concussions evaluation protocols and accessibility. She was a silver medalist at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and won gold with the U.S. Women’s National Team at the 2011 Four Nations Cup in Sweden.  Josephine was a defensemen for the ECAC Harvard Crimson from 2009-2014. During her tenure at Harvard, Josephine garnered several awards including ECAC All-Academic Team, All-Ivy first team, All-ECAC Hockey second team and was nominated in 2012 for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award.  Before Harvard, Josephine was a four-year defensemen on the Choate Rosemary Hall hockey team, serving as captain her senior year.  She was voted team MVP her junior and seniors years. While at Choate, she helped the team clinch the New England Prep School Championship in 2007, and led the team to the 2008 Founder’s League championship.  She was a member of the Mid Fairfield Connecticut Stars which took silver in 2005, and bronze in 2008 and 2009 at USA Hockey Nationals.  


Girls U16-1 – Bill Maniscalco


Girls U16 Prep – Harry Geary
Harry Geary is currently teaching and coaching at Fairfield Country Day School.  He has gone undefeated the last two years.  Previously, Harry was the head coach of the girls varsity hockey team at The Gunnery for three years. The last two years his teams won the Division 2 New England Prep School Athletic Conference Division 2 championship. Harry attended the University of Connecticut, where he majored in finance and played both ice hockey and club lacrosse. His long-time involvement in the sport of hockey had its roots here in CT. Harry was an All-American and was named to the New England Sports Writers All-Star team twice. He also had a try-out with the Los Angeles Kings the year that Wayne Gretzky joined the team. After playing two years of minor league hockey, Harry played for a year in s'Hertogenbosch, Holland. He then returned home to Ridgefield, Connecticut and spent the next 20+ years coaching local high school and youth hockey programs, including the Stars 16U-2 and 19U-2 teams. For the majority of those years, Harry has taught math in the Connecticut public schools. He and his wife, Sarah, have two children, Grace and Harry III.

Girls U14-1 – Melissa Hawkins

Melissa brings a wealth of hockey experience to our organization.  Melissa grew up playing for the Syracuse Stars organization and went on to play D-III hockey at Manhattanville College.  She earned her bachelors degree in Psychology and Elementary Education while at Manhattanville. Also while at Manhattanville the Valiants were three time ECAC East Conference champions. In her Sophomore, JR & SR year Melissa was chosen by her peers and coaches to be the Assistant Captain of the team.  Melissa has been coaching various levels of girls and boys ice hockey for the past 13 years. Currently Melissa is working with Autistic children in Westport and running her business Hawkins Hockey (Camps & Clinics).   She has coached at Manhattanville College, was the head coach for Wilton High School's girls Varsity team, the U19 CT Oilers Girls team, and the CT Barons Pee Wee A team. Melissa and assistant coach Marie Pescatore led the Stars U14 tier one team to a bronze medal finish at 2016 USA Hockey Nationals.


Girls U13/14-2 – Elizabeth Bennett

For the past 4 years Elizabeth was the Varsity Girls Ice Hockey Coach at Culver Academy in Indiana.  Prior to that, she was the Head Girls Ice Hockey Coach for 2 years at Winchendon School and during her last year at Winchendon she was Assistant Director of Admissions.  Elizabeth graduated from Connecticut College in 2008 with a B.A. in American Studies.  She was a forward on the women's ice hockey team all 4 years.  She has her Level 4 Coaching Certification from USA Hockey and has worked numerous camps.

Girls U12-1 – Marie Pescatore

For the past two years Marie was the Mid Fairfield Stars U14 Assistant Coach. Prior to that she was the Assistant Coach for the Wilton Varsity Girls Hockey Team. Marie graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2014 with her Masters in Elementary Education and Bachelors in Health Science. During her time at Quinnipiac University, Marie was a flanker for the NCAA DI Women’s Rugby Team. Outside of hockey, Marie currently teaches fifth grade at Fair Haven School.
